Community Gardens

every tuesday 8.30 to 12.30

Ravenshoe Community Gardens started on June 1st 2013 and is continuing on with a bunch of enthusiastic volunteers. The gardens are communal, we work together and share the harvest with people in need. Anyone can come and help in our garden, and the rewards are satisfaction in jobs well done, a fun morning with like-minded people, and a share of the bounty produced. The gardens are designed using Permaculture principles and are completely organic with a side dressing of biodynamics so the beautiful fresh fruit and veggies are full of life and health.

There is always lots to do and learn:

  • Compost making
  • Liquid fertilisers
  • Natural weed and pest control
  • Worm farming
  • Seasonal planting and harvesting cycles
  • Seed saving
  • Propagation
  • Healthy soil
  • New and unusual fruits and veggies

Want to join in, come along on a Monday morning
